Privacy Policy

Nepworking is a free resource run by a small group of volunteers. We collect as little data as possible and will never sell it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can ask us to delete it.

What we collect

We collect the following data:

Email address (optional) — only if you choose to subscribe for updates via the optional signup form. We also record the timestamp of your subscription.
Story submissions — when you use the “Share Your Story” form, we collect your selected segment (looking/helping/hiring), your story text, and optionally your industry or field. We do not collect your name or any contact information through this form. Stories are reviewed before publication and published anonymously.
Anonymous download counts — when you download a playbook, we record the type (Quick Guide or Full Playbook) and a timestamp. We do not record your IP address, browser, or any identifying information.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. This service uses no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not track individual visitors. It provides aggregate page view counts only. We do not use tracking pixels or advertising cookies.

Why we collect it

If you choose to provide your email address, we use it solely to send occasional updates (new resources, notable stories, or changes to the project). You can unsubscribe at any time.

We collect story submissions to build a community resource that helps job seekers and the people trying to help them.

Anonymous download counts help us understand whether the playbooks are reaching people. No personal data is attached to these counts.

Legal basis (GDPR)

For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and UK, our legal basis for processing your email address is consent — specifically, the checkbox you check when submitting the form. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us or clicking unsubscribe in any email we send.

Who stores your data

Email addresses, story submissions, and anonymous download counts are stored in Airtable (a US-based cloud database). Airtable is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides a Data Processing Addendum. Emails sent to subscribers are handled through Buttondown, which also complies with GDPR and provides standard DPA terms.

Page view analytics are processed by Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare does not store personally identifiable information for this service and does not use cookies.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Fonts

This site loads fonts from Bunny Fonts (fonts.bunny.net), a GDPR-compliant font delivery service that does not log IP addresses or track users.

How long we keep your data

We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. Story submissions, once published anonymously, are kept as part of the community archive. Unpublished submissions are deleted periodically.

Your rights

Under GDPR (and applicable privacy laws), you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority
